
Creative Development Workshop

Empowering WA storytellers with the skills to shape tomorrow’s screen stories
WIFT Australia, with support from Screenwest, is pleased to present this workshop at CinefestOZ Film Festival designed to address a critical skills gap in Western Australia’s screen sector - creative development for scripted projects.
Open to any WA screen practitioner working across the creative development process - directors, writers, producers, creative executives, etc - the workshop will provide essential development practices and strategies for advancing scripted works to screen using innovative finance models and project plans.
Attendees can expect to gain skills in:
Understanding of the role of audience at the development stage;
Managing creative development budgets and teams;
Rectifying issues and managing project feedback;
Building productive working relationships with creative talent, market players, and industry organisations;
Developing innovative development funding models.
The workshop will be facilitated by an internationally-renowned creative screen producers (to be announced shortly) who will share their expertise producing some of the world’s most exciting screen projects to WA.
